Management Oversight Documents

 

  • Provide instructional management support:

    • Ensure that data processing and computer services are supportive of the instructional goals of the district.

    • Provide direct support to Director of Instructional Technology to plan and implement procedures

  • Maintain school / organizational climate:

    • Promote a positive, caring climate for learning.
    • Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
    • Employ effective interpersonal skills.
 
  • Ensure school / organizational improvement:

    • Assess and respond to needs related to job responsibilities.
    • Contribute to the recommendation of sound policies for program improvement.
    • Design feasible projects for implementing innovations.
 
  • Manage TMS personnel:

    • Prepare, review and revise job descriptions in the TMS department.
    • Develop training options and improvement plans to ensure optimum operation in the area of data processing.
    • Evaluate job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness.
    • Make sound recommendations concerning personal placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal.
    • Oversee specifications, SRs, installations and repairs of GCCISD technology.
 
  • Administer the Facilities Management Program

    • Direct and manage the district TMS department.
    • Ensure that programs are cost effective and funds are managed prudently.
    • Compile budgets and cost estimates based upon documented program needs.
    • Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy in the data processing area.
    • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
    • Conduct needs assessment for growth and improvement of computing services.
    • Ensure that computers and applications are correctly maintained and upgraded.
    • Design and provide computer services to district personnel.
  •  Provide student management support

    • Demonstrate support for the district's student management policies and expected student behavior related to computer services.
 
  • Develop and maintain TMS staff professionally:

    • Develop professional skills appropriate to job assignment.
    • Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible and serve as a role model for all district staff.
 
  • Maintain positive school / community relations

    • Articulate the district's mission to the community in the area of data services and solicit its support in realizing the mission.
    • Demonstrate awareness of district and community needs, and initiate activities to meet those identified needs.
    • Demonstrate the use of appropriate and effective techniques for community and parent involvement.
